Our last photo update of the 31-storey 6th and Tenth development in Calgary was just a little over a month ago, but things move quickly in the booming Beltline community. It also helps that Forum contributor Surrealplaces recently conducted a drone flyover of the site, capturing some unique angles of the under-construction development.

Calgary's strengthening reputation as a thriving metropolis attracted investment from three provinces to the east, where the Toronto team of Lamb Development CorpFortress Real Developments, and Core Architects have partnered to bring the striking new condominium to a bustling part of the city.

Brad Lamb brings his trademark urban vernacular from Toronto developments like Theatre Park to 6th and Tenth by highlighting units with concrete walls and ceilings. Stone kitchen countertops and pre-engineered wood flooring emphasize the raw appeal of the 230 residences. Residents will have plenty of activities to engage in, thanks to the provision of a fitness centre, outdoor terrace, and a forecourt with unique water features. The ground floor will have a diverse commercial component which includes a five-star restaurant opposite a standout public art feature.

Cladding installation began earlier in the summer, when a contrasting motif of white and black panels appeared. The drone flyover portrays a never-before-seen view of the site, showing close-ups of the red externally mounted tower crane servicing construction. Now beyond the structural halfway point, formwork is visible at the top of the tower as floor slabs and walls are manufactured. A randomly arranged pattern of protruding balconies brings a sense of depth to the facade. Crews are working hard towards the 2017 delivery date, and at a rate of about one floor per week, topping out should be reached in the fall.
