In the five months since our last update, progress has been moving along well at the site of Golub & Company's Moment, a 45-storey, rental apartment tower and annex located in the heart of Chicago's Streeterville neighbourhood, just north of the The Loop.

As seen in recent images captured by Forum member harryc, the Solomon Cordwell Buenz-designed Moment has now received virtually all of its signature blue-tinted glass curtain wall. Below, Moment can be seen from further back, its surrounding urban context captured more thoroughly.

Built atop a 10-storey annex and podium, the tower portion will consist of 490 luxury apartments, with a mix of 59 studios, 39 convertibles, 289 one-bedroom units, 98 two-bedroom units, and five three-bedroom units. Living spaces will be relatively generous, with an average unit size of 830 square feet.

The 10-storey annex will in large part be dedicated to housing the tower's 300 above-ground parking spots — accounting for a roughly 60% parking-to-unit ratio — along with a space for the main entrance and lobby. At ground level, the outer corner of the tower will meet the street with a collection of retail options and services, adding to the pedestrian character that has long made Streeterville a prime location within downtown Chicago.

Visible above, the tower has been provided with a signature look, thanks in large part to its blue tint and jagged exterior detailing, which is carried all the way around the structure. Still in progress, the outdoor amenity space carved into the side of the tower (seen above and in more detail below) will host a sizeable outdoor terrace and rooftop lounge, with the indoor portion being home to the building's fitness centre, spa, media room, games, room, and business centre.

Now that much of the work has been completed, units at Moment are being listed on the rental market for anywhere between $2,000 and $8,000 per month, depending on size, floor, and view. While it may be some time until the podium level is able to receive its first retail tenants, the main entrance and lobby are now complete, ready to welcome the first inhabitants into their new home.

Once complete, Moment will be a welcome addition to Streeterville, adding a great deal of density to the neighbourhood, along with a host of new retail options and a design that does its best to stand out amid the more generic glass box architecture of modern condos found across the city.
