In the twelve months since our last update, progress has been moving along at the site of the Bridgestone Americas building in downtown Nashville. The Highwoods Properties-built, Perkins + Will-designed, 30-storey office tower is already becoming a fixture on the local skyline. With just a few storeys to go, along with the placement of the structure's signature decorative fins that will soon grace the top of the tower, and with the glass curtain wall installation not far behind, it will not be long before the Bridgestone Americas building is ready to welcome its proposed 1,700 office workers to their new headquarters.

In order to relocate the company downtown from the suburbs, Bridgestone America's new headquarters will amalgamate the former head office with several regional branches. The rebirth of central Nashville as a vibrant urban hub and emergent tech sector has inspired the return of corporate and residential highrises into the core, in a city that is once again viewed as an attractive place to live, work, and play.

For its part, the new $230 million headquarters will contain 523,000 square feet of Class A office space spread across 30 storeys, all of which will be dedicated to Bridgestone Americas, Inc. At its base, the elegantly designed tower will feature an 8,000-square-foot retail space at street level sitting atop an 1,150-space parking garage that will be accessible from the rear of the building. Built within the rapidly transforming SoBro neighbourhood, the Bridgestone Americas building will open in late 2017.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
