Good god no. The Carrera marble strips are some of the best details on a building and it's a timeless piece of Toronto architecture.

Indeed. What it needs is a good cleaning, not a paint job.

They're split-faced strips of marble embedded in concrete. If you have a chance to see the cladding up close by visiting the podium garden, then definitely do so. It's really unique. I wish we had more buildings with artistic choices of cladding like City Hall's abstract north facade.
