A little off topic, but did this need an EA? If not, why can't we just get building additional streetcar trackage elsewhere in the City
We should have built the 512 ST. CLAIR west extension to Jane Street/Scarlett Road by now.

The anti-transit, anti-pedestrian, anti-cyclist lobbyists use the EA (Environmental Assessment) to place roadblocks on projects that may hinder the almighty automobile. Wonder if any of the NIMBYs fighting Ontario Line's routeings, stations, storage facilities, etc. are really anti-transit lobbyists?

IO P3 Market Update - January 2022

On first glance seems like the project has been delayed. Kind of disappointed the RFQ for the northern civil, stations and tunnel won't come out until July to September 2022. Would have been great to see it before the June elections.

Ontario Line – Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance AND Southern Civil, Stations and Tunnel
  • Contract Execution (between October to December 2022)

Ontario Line – Northern Civil, Stations and Tunnel
  • RFQ July to September 2022
  • RFP Jan to March 2023
  • Contract Execution July to September 2024

doubt it.
It depends on if the rolling stock operator wants to show a similar model off.

We dont know if theyre doing a custom unit or one "off the shelf"

Still don't know what the rolling stock will look like. Thought they would have had a winning bid by now. Will a mock-up appear on the grounds of the 2022 Canadian National Exhibition? 🕰️

Slightly more detail here in today's Infrastructure Ontario quarterly report. Contract execution for rolling stock (bottom of pg. 3) will be sometime between Oct-Dec.2022:

Great read... We are already to deep and the line is going to be built. Let's see what can be salvaged by these various parties before the upcoming election. I doubt much but who knows.
