Watch VL West open before Eglinton Crosstown somehow lol
I think the goal is to reopen 103 Ave fully before completely closing off 102 Ave, as will be required. Keep in mind that 103rd is the primary point of exit from the Ice District parkade, so it does get extremely busy after arena events. When will they commence downtown construction on 102 Ave? Why wasn't this started last year?
I think people are forgetting only HALF the roads are even done… like all of 87ave, 156st, 104th ave. They only have HALF the road finished, then still have to finish those…which they might not be all complete before snow comes… then they need to demolish and rebuild the entire other sides of every road. That’ll take another 2 summers.I see 2025 with the road reconstruction on the LRT line largely complete. The focus will shift to track bed and station construction.
For sure, but the utility relocations are done for the majority of the alignment west of groat, so its only a matter of removal, placing sidewalks and asphalt.I think people are forgetting only HALF the roads are even done… like all of 87ave, 156st, 104th ave. 0 stations are built.
102ave downtown is untouched.
No landscaping, testing, etc will start till that’s all finished. There is a ton left to do still.
I was thinking that the second half of the roads will be under construction next year. If the first half is completed, they could start with drainage in the winter.I think people are forgetting only HALF the roads are even done… like all of 87ave, 156st, 104th ave. Nice to see they're getting going on the east side of the elevated guideway! I've been excitedly waiting for them to start. Thanks for the pictures!
In speaking to Marigold recently, they have proactively told us that there will be significant construction on 102 Avenue starting next spring. This year was the remainder of utility relocation. Beyond that they could not give specifics. When will they commence downtown construction on 102 Ave? Why wasn't this started last year?
Hopefully 2 more weeks of progress can be made before the winter stoppage on the guideway!Nice to see they're getting going on the east side of the elevated guideway! I've been excitedly waiting for them to start. Thanks for the pictures!
I need to move tf out of Icon before this spring, 102 closure for 2025 + Beaver Hills/Michael Phair construction is going to make alley access a freakin' absolutely nightmare. And sounds like the Saturday market is then going to have to run at reduced capacity, assuming they'll only have vendors from Michael Phair to 102 to accommodate access. In speaking to Marigold recently, they have proactively told us that there will be significant construction on 102 Avenue starting next spring. I don’t see why they won’t keep working through the winter on it. When Calgary used a gantry they continued to lift over the winterHopefully 2 more weeks of progress can be made before the winter stoppage on the guideway!
The market can expand north of 102 Avenue intersection (which will remain open) and is exploring other options as well, as vendor demand for next year is very strong.I need to move tf out of Icon before this spring, 102 closure for 2025 + Beaver Hills/Michael Phair construction is going to make alley access a freakin' absolutely nightmare.
