Voted.

It was a bit of a gong show to do so today. There were multiple polls in the same venue and I was stopped immediately at the front entrance and asked for my voter card. They checked the card and helpfully explained exactly where I needed to go.
That's fine. That's good. It was up one floor from the entrance but only a short maybe 30 second walk, and the line was visible from the lobby of the building.

I made it all of ten feet to the stairs before I was stopped and asked again which poll I was going to and told the same information and was directed to the same spot up the stairs.
I made it up to the top of the stairs and was stopped again and asked for my card and given the identical information a third time.
"Thank you, in the six seconds it took me to walk up the stairs I had completely forgot that information already given to me twice in the past one minute."

I got in the line I was supposed to be in and was stopped again and was asked to show my card to verify I was in the correct line.
After getting to the front of that line, I was stopped again and asked to show my card to verify I was still in the correct line.
Then at the desk I was of course asked to give my card over to verify I was at the correct poll.

They had only one voting booth for our poll, so the line moved very slowly, though that one isn't only on Elections Canada, but also the morons that spent several minutes to mark their ballot because clearly they didn't know which of the six candidates to choose, which, why would go to an advance voting poll and not already know who you are voting for? THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT! YOU ALREADY HAVE DECIDED!

ANYWAY
What was clear is the advance voter turnout is HUGE, meaning most people have already decided and I think the election is already over.
Even in Alberta I wouldn't be surprised at a 35% Liberal support that turns into five or six seats.

Went out to the advance polls today.
They were empty at 10 am but I got it done...
I had to line up for a few minutes at 1:45 pm. I can't recall seeing a crowd before at advanced polls.
It also seemed more crowded than previous times, as instead of using the elementary school gym, it was in their small library room this time.

Scrum was canceled last night due to human cancer Ezra Levant causing altercations.

As I was saying before, the controversy surrounding Rebel News seems to be getting more headlines then the debate itself is. And Rebel News and the controversy being in the news to begin with is bad for PP cause once people put two and two together, they realize it's his crowd...

Poilievre promises to bring back single-use plastic bags, cutlery

From https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/poilievre-promises-to-bring-back-single-use-plastic-bags-cutlery

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is promising to end the federal single-use plastic ban on items like straws and grocery bags if his party is elected.
Article content

Poilievre says he would repeal all the bans the Liberals implemented on plastics including grocery bags and cutlery.

He would also end Liberal plans to standardize plastic packaging and labelling to make it easier to recycle, referring to it as a “plastic tax” on food packaging.

The previous Liberal government banned six single-use plastic items in 2022 after designating plastic manufactured items as toxic under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.
A Federal Court quashed that designation in November 2023 saying it was too broad to say all manufactured plastic is toxic but the ban remains in place pending an appeal.

The Liberals began implementing a plan to require up to 60 per cent of food packaging be made from recycled plastic by 2030.

They were looking to increase how much plastic gets recycled in Canada with studies suggesting as much as 90 per cent of plastic waste ends up in landfills.

Poilievre claims the plastic ban will cost the economy $1.3 billion over the next decade, and the average family $400 annually.

Poilievre is following in Trump's footsteps with plastic straws. No thanks.

What next? Shower heads, toilets, etc.

Ezra nevers misses an opportunity to be photographed being taken away by police in hand cuffs.

He desperately wants to be seen as some folk hero of the right.

Small nitpick...

He desperately wants to make money.........and he perceives his avenue to do that is being seen as a folk hero of the right.

Basically, Ezra's the Canuckistani version of Steve Bannon filling-the-zone-with-sh!t technique.

With the array of really important issues facing the nation, for those who are still on the bubble of whether or not PP is 'Trump-lite', this type of proclamation might be a nail in the coffin. I realize they have to keep saying 'new stuff' when they stand in front of a mic during an election but, seriously, this is best you had that day?
