Yesterday, UrbanToronto joined a construction tour of SkyTower at Pinnacle One Yonge, covering the tower from podium to near-pinnacle. The walkthrough revealed details on the tuned mass damping, post-tensioned slabs, RCS and ACS systems, and progress across residential, hotel, and public spaces.

I don’t get why so many love the look & design of this tower so much. The height? The roof? It’s maybe a more elevated status quo form but very familiar still. Colour scheme is on the bland side. If this structure had significant shades of gold, amber etc in its facade, but Toronto
never does, then I’d like it much more.

Agreed.

Other than the height I never got what was so special about this towers design. It could fit right into Mississauga's skyline IMO.
