If the pool is leaking it is probably a CONSTRUCTION problem and even if City staff were working on it 24/7 I bet it involves interminable discussions between construction companies, insurers and lawyers before any actual fixing can start. The City did not build the pool and once it is decided what needs to be done and who is paying for it, the fix itself is not going to be easy or fast if it involves replacing the membrane. I was also not blaming City staff for this.
 
One of our pools is actually directly above our underground parking it had a leak in the shell as a result of the calcium pulling from the concrete we had Canadian leak detection in and the problem resolved within 2 months this included draining the pool cutting out the damaged section and repouring it as well as retiling half the pool though if the pump room is not in the immediate vicinity of the pool that can make things a lot harder as this particular pool I'm referring to the pumps and everything for it are three stories underground so there's all that pipe I take back what I said earlier it could be a larger issue 😅
 
I swear I took a picture of the Community Centre pool when it was still under construction and just before it opened to the public (before it was filled with water), but of course I cant find it now. Ughhh.

Funny enough, the pool was the main reason the community centre was delayed from being opened (the rest of the community centre opened but was delayed in opening, while the pool was last to open).

We actually had a few swim classes there in the brief window it was open. St. Lawrence (our normal location at the time) was closed for a while.
 
Yesterday, UrbanToronto was invited to a construction tour of SkyTower. Neither rain nor fog nor wind nor cold stayed us from completing the tour. A story will go up later today, but for now here's a roundup of photos from the event. The tour started at the 67th floor, then the 73rd floor (at the bottom of the RCS), then the first three floors, the level seven outdoor terrace, and ended on floor 42 (fittingly, the answer to life, the universe, and everything).

The system enables a roughly four-day cycle per floor, helping to maintain the construction schedule even when crane operations are halted due to wind or height constraints.

It's fast, but not that fast. It will probably surpass 1 Bloor West before the latter reaches substantial completion (topped out and fully clad), but that's a moot point because we know it will be 43m taller.
