GO Transit’s new MCI D45 CRT #5000 has arrived in Toronto. Apparently you won’t have to wait long to see it as they want to get these in service as soon as possible.

I guess we will see the old ones sold off to third party carriers.
The all white front bumper looks unfinished and cheap imo. The 2009 bus next to it at least has the black trim to break up the bland white lines
GO needs all of the buses that they can get right now. This is why they've been sending them out for rebuild by the dozen.I guess we will see the old ones sold off to third party carriers.
No different than any of the almost 500 versions of the same bus that they've operated historically.Good grief those aisles are narrow. Still has the ambience of a souped up school-bus. I'll miss the layout on the double decker's.
Yes. Third window back from the front door.Is there a wheelchair lift or something on each bus? I've never seen how they do that.
Where did you go to school that had school buses comparable in any way to a GO coach?!Still has the ambience of a souped up school-bus

My school's buses could be more accurately described as prisoner transports!
It's strange that they added more handholds considering you're not allowed to stand on coach buses that are equipped with seatbelts.Good grief those aisles are narrow.
What on earth are you talking about? The ambience is basically the same as the double deckers, and not even remotely like a school bus.Still has the ambience of a souped up school-bus. I'll miss the layout on the double decker's.
Mmmm... that is going to be a lot of fun on those over-capacity runs. It's strange that they added more handholds considering you're not allowed to stand on coach buses that are equipped with seatbelts.
They leave people behind if there are no available seats. This has already been the case for a few years.Mmmm... that is going to be a lot of fun on those over-capacity runs.
On the MCIs I've been on since the school year started, they let the standee capacity fill, too. They leave people behind if there are no available seats. This has already been the case for a few years.
because the old MCIs don't have seatbelts. Like I said, passengers are required by law to use seatbelts if they are provided, and seatbelts are required by Transport Canada on coach buses built after September 2020.On the MCIs I've been on since the school year started, they let the standee capacity fill, too.
Not that that's a great extra amount of space, but still, if it's going to be seated only going forward that's cause for some concern.
This is absolutely not true. They are allowed something like 25% of the seats for standees on any run operating on a highway - none upstairs on a double-decker. And they do this all the time. They leave people behind if there are no available seats. This has already been the case for a few years.
This reminded me of the UTM shuttles using a school bus, but the livery was akin to prisoner transport... Talk about being institutionalized. My school's buses could be more accurately described as prisoner transports!
