Could the subsidy be for ONR bus service to continue a northern transportation service that was eliminated with the ending of the Northlander rail service?

If you glance at the annual reports, the funding is clearly identified as "rail capital" or "rail operations".

Temiskaming Shores Station looks very GO Transit like from colour scheme to light posts to signage. I assume Metrolinx provided some expertise in the design and procurement of the station.

Intermediate stations will more or less have the same design. They include:
- Bracebridge
- Gravenhurst
- Huntsville
- Matheson
- Kirkland Lake (Swastika)
- South River
- Temagami
- Temiskaming Shores (New Liskeard)
- Washago

According to their website the shelter contract was awarded in June 2024. I suspect installation on the CN Newmarket Sub. station stops will be slowed by legal matters.

If the stations on CN track get delayed, I wonder if they could still start service on-time without those stations. The stations on the CN Newmarket sub are:
- Washago
- Gravenhurst
- Bracebridge
- Huntsville
- South River
Washago is an existing Via station so service can almost certainly start regardless of the progress on shelters and platform upgrades. The construction is presumably staged to maintain partial platform access for Via trains already.
Huntsville still seems to have its platform in place from the original Northlander service but I'm not sure if it's in a condition that would be acceptable for public use while the new platform is under construction.
So worst case scenario if construction is delayed, they could still start the service on time by running express from Washago to North Bay stopping only at the completed platforms.

The platforms were never in good shape to begin with. I'd imagine if there is a safe spot, just outside of the construction area, they will stop there if the platforms are not fully built on opening day.
The other thing to remember is that it seems that many construction projects tend to go into December. It is almost as though they forgot we get snow. So, they still have a month. And, also in spring, they may start construction as early as March. So, there is about 3 construction months if they plan to open in May.
