Have they? I don't think they've changed many (any?) of the interior signs yet.I wonder why it says, "WILL SOON be renamed Cedarvale", when they've already changed the exterior signs.

Ooh, I don't think I'd want to go into Schrödinger's Station. I might end up being half alive, half not! What is this, Schrondingers station?
It is, but isnt Cedarvale?
I don't understand why they changed the name, especially if Finch West remains the same while also having an LRT soon to be attached to it.
I see no information in that thread (https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threa...5-cedarvale-station-m-1s-metrolinx-norr.19747) saying that the outside signage has been changed. There's only one post since May 2004, and it doesn't show the original entrance.Addendum to the above: I just had a look at this site's forum for Cedarville Station, and saw the new outside signage has been up since at least June.
That also doesn't show the outdoor signage for the old entrance. The NOW articles notes that the station name will change in the future.I looked for the opening ceremony that was mentioned (because I'd never heard about it, and the Cedarville forum doesn't mention it), and saw a NOW article from last week, where they had an UNOFFICIAL ceremony at the station!
nfitz, you must have been looking at some thread other than the one in your own link. That thread was created in 2013. It has recent pictures from July, and a Google street view picture captured from June.I see no information in that thread (https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threa...5-cedarvale-station-m-1s-metrolinx-norr.19747) saying that the outside signage has been changed. Also, go back to where you captured this picture, turn and look east, then turn again and look north.
It still says says Eglinton West. The image date is June 2025. The sign has not been changed. Which sign has been changed? Also, go back to where you captured this picture, turn and look west, then turn again and look north.![]()
I only see a single 2025 post with two pictures - https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threa...-1s-metrolinx-norr.19747/page-11#post-2261159nfitz, you must have been looking at some thread other than the one in your own link. I give up. I never used the word "changed" in the posts you're objecting to. What I said was, "the new outside signage has been up since at least June". I'm talking about the signs on the new entrances. (Slight correction, I did say "they've already changed the exterior signs", but I meant they've "already changed" to using the new name on exterior signs, i.e. it's not something that will only happen in future, or is just starting now, the change started months ago.)It still says says Eglinton West. Both pictures are of new entrances. I see no changed signage. Do you see an additional image? Sometimes there's stuff that's not visible to all users.
The real question is, have they updated the transfer machine?Have they? I don't think they've changed many (any?) of the interior signs yet.
No the one in the original station still says Eglinton West, but the new ones in the new entrance say CeadevaleThe real question is, have they updated the transfer machine?

One positive in all this is we'll (hopefully) be rid of that ugly font from one more station!Definitely still called Eglinton West at subway platform level.
Can someone tell me why we still need transfer machines? I thought you had to buy a ticket at a machine to go through the turnstiles. Or where these installed years before they stopped accepting tickets and tokens. No the one in the original station still says Eglinton West, but the new ones in the new entrance say Ceadevale
