Now is the time for baseless speculation!

I think it it's going to be a new hotel/residential tower that's at least 180m tall with a 2-storey CRU catering to a downtown Zara facing 102 Ave and another Sabor as the hotel restaurant.

And idk maybe it's bought by a Swedish pension fund lol
 
Typically when a property has been sold -- especially one so prominent on the City scene -- the "for sale" sign is replaced with a "sold" sign so that the transaction realtor can curry the bragging rights. More likely the contract term expired and the realtor was asked to remove the sign.
 
I have been told that Westrich Pacific has purchased this site with the intention of beautifying in the short time while they consider their options for development.

I'm sure there are people on this forum that can comment much more accurately than me :)

But, if true, I think that is fantastic news.

I don't know you to peddle false hope -- you've been right in the past about other transactions -- so I'm praying your good reputation will continue here. :) Thanks for sharing.

Demolish a perfectly good building, leave the site in disrepair for years so that it becomes such an eyesore that people will be excited for a parking lot.

We wouldn't have accepted this if it was proposed right after demolition, and we shouldn't accept it now

Don’t think anyone is happy about that full circle, but we have to deal with where we are at right this moment in time.
 
I don't think we should be ok with this being converted to a parking lot. We should be striving for a better use, even if the lot is an eyesore and the city desperate to see something happen here. Why can't this be a temporary park with some space set aside for food trucks and buskers?
