The City of Mississsauga is looking to convert the former Grand Highland Golf Course located near Bristol Road East about halfway between Hurontario Street and Kennedy Road.

The lands at Grand Highland cover 11.5 hectares (28 acres) in the Hurontario neighbourhood between Hurontario Street and Highway 403. The City wants to turn the lands into a sustainable, distinctive park which balances its cultural and historical importance with the present and future needs of the community.

The location is important to the First Nations and Indigenous Communities as it’s close to the former Antrex Indigenous Village. Through consultation with the First Nations and Indigenous Communities, the future park will integrate commemorative elements to provide a respectful and correct interpretation of the Village as directed by City of Mississauga Council Resolution 0038-2022 in a strong step towards Reconciliation.

I also came across this presentation to the city's facility accessibility design subcommittee, which has some more details.

I feel like a new entrance on Bristol Rd would be beneficial, to allow access to the park from Frank McKechnie Community Centre.
