So it's not going to look like this?
'Ats roight guvnah... but it depends on or if either HNTB or Dialog even did this rendering to begin with. OEG may have done this internally. I am more interested on how HNTB will handle the "programmable" space -- gliding/stacking roof or fabric roof that covers like the fair "caterpillar" ride. There is an opportunity here for some real innovation that may make this structure stand apart.

My understanding is that OEG wants to use the existing fan park for the remainder of 2026 (octoberfest likely one of the last events), then move it to a temporary site north of the MacDonald Building, and begin infrastructure construction on the current site late 2026 or early 2027. Explains the phasing of Village to north / west parcels first, since the east half will house the event/fan park until the main site is complete.

For the north west sites, they were contemplating whether the existing zoning works or not - grant funding is still tied to having some work completed before they receive the money, I can't recall if that means construction needs to be complete by end of 2028 or just the structural stuff. Given Mark's previous prioritization comments, I wonder if it's the latter. Regardless, we haven't seen a development permit for any of the village stuff yet, so not surprising that the company he is connected with isn't prioritizing this.

Are they keeping the MacDonald building or is the classic Edmonton thing going to happen to it?
