Hopefully, This is a design change as I remember reading a basement level (+ underground parking) being too expensive. No to surface parking!

It seems, based on a not terribly detailed graphic at the link above, that $29 Million out of the $30 Million budget has been raised so far.

And here, some specifics regarding the need for the new facility:

In the last year alone, RMH Toronto provided over 9,569 family nights of comfort. But we now find ourselves up against the wall. Literally. Our 28 family bedrooms on Gerrard Street are constantly full and there is simply no room to grow. Inundated with requests for spots, we presently have to turn away approximately 70% of the families who turn to us for help. And now that the average length of stay has climbed to 51 days, the need is more dire than ever. The sad truth is, too many out-of-town families are being left to fend for themselves. So we’re reaching out to you to help us build a remarkable new 96-bedroom House to serve 80 families.

The building, designed it seems by Sybil Wa at Montgomery Sisam, will be LEED Gold certified.

No info on the Montgomery Sisam site (at least not that I could find). Has anyone been able to get a hold of any renders outside of those shown in the video?

Thank you, Belinda the Intern. This project has pretty much dropped off the radar here recently. We should be paying a bit more attention.

I wonder if anyone has heard what will happen to the old RM House, once the new one comes into use?

Ronald McDonald House occupancy receives approval (via Twitter): @Tridel just announced that @RMHToronto has approved occupancy at 240 McCaul. Congrats and thank you to the #construction and design team!

Painfully uninspired. So many architecture firms could have created something much more interesting, even on a minuscule budget.
