I like that the tower will be publicly labelled so that any derision toward it, rightly or wrongly, will be directed at the Trump brand rather than the city.
Okay enough of this nonsense. You're going on my Ignore list.
Whether you agree with Trump or not, this is a positive addition to our city. It is the nicest hotel in the country, and there is nothing else like it in Toronto.

"Nicest hotel in the country" *harrumph* the Royal York, the Chateau Frontenac, etc etc etc
its rated 13th out of 119 hotels on TripAdvisor, so its hardly 'the nicest hotel', in Toronto or anywhere:

perhaps "luxurious" or "classy" is a more appropriate term for this type of hotel compared to the Royal York or Frontenac
Now that Trump is finished I can make a fair opinion about it. Conclusion......I like it even less than I though I would.
I did some rubbernecking with a friend in the hotel lobby. We were instantly approached by a very pleasant young man who, despite the fact we were "just looking" proceeded to describe the lobby and features of the building. As we turned to leave he offered us both a bottled mineral water. Doubt that would happen at a Hampton Inn. The aesthetics both inside and out are a matter of personal taste, but the treatment we received was definitely 5 star.
The Royal York is big, and classic, but not even a 5 star hotel... Its a four star.
In the bigger picture, there's more to "niceness" than star ratings, much as (as per the casino thread) there's more to "quality" than money expended.
