Downtown will happen, it's going through a phase, but will pick up again. It hard to be patient while other cities have downtowns moving at faster paces, but it is what it is.

Sadly I fear you are correct. With Westrich the lot will get developed eventually, but it'll be a 6 storey wood frame project that would easily blend into Sherwood Park. On the other hand getting rid of empty lots is still a priority for Edmonton.

Exactly my thoughts. Put a basketball court there in the summer and try for an ice rink in the winter, at least until it's ready for build out.

The latter. I get that there is a real issue with sketchiness around downtown and the lrt stations, but to swear off it from one incident seems a bit much. I use the lrt a fair bit and don't encounter issues very often. For a lot of people the issues get blown out of proportion.
