    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Logically, it would make the most sense for any additional vehicles to also be Flexity units. However, I raised the question because I’ve come across several discussions suggesting that Alstom may not be interested in taking on further Flexity orders. I’m not sure how credible those claims are...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Yeah, that makes sense. Sorry for the confusion. I was suggesting the idea of a Citadis Spirit or Citadis Spirit like vehicle that would be built with the same signaling system as used on line 5 if Alstom is no longer willing or able to build the Flexity Freedom for the TTC. I wasn't suggesting...

I thought line 6 was also using 750 V. Is this not correct?

If the Flexity Freedom vehicles are no longer available for production, could the line be supplemented by introducing coupled Alstom Citadis units as additional vehicles? In that scenario, it seems likely that extra bollards would need to be installed at the mid-section where the Citadis cars...

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

I was actually thinking about the Detroit People Mover too — the whole “6–7 stops” thing was more of a meme than a serious proposal 😅 What I meant originally was that if we’re talking about vanity projects, there are way better ones than spending limited money just to add one extra stop to hit...

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

Or this would be the perfect opportunity to build an elevated 6-7 stop people mover like the one in Pearson airport or Disneyland 😂 that would loop around the area. More seriously though I would imagine this as a mini version of the Yurikamome line in Tokyo. It would be fully elevated and would...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

There is a "full" ride video from February 4th at 1:41 PM on youtube where the uploader stated that the ride took 40 minutes and 25 seconds in the comments section. That does appear to be quite the improvement already if true, so I would imagine 33-38 minutes is probably possible. If that is the...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Metrolinx better get that bi-articulated bus order ready. At least the ROW has already been paved for the most part unlike the SRT.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

That's a fair point, but then maybe it's worth going the other way about it and making the necessary upgrades to Spadina, St. Clair, etc to have off-board payments, better shelters at stops, and actually appear on the map so people know where they are going. Once TSP is implemented, if this...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I agree. So perhaps the best would be for line 6 to be a streetcar line instead. But I digress and will leave it at that.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

No, quite the opposite actually. I think we should add infill stations to line 1 and 2 so I can hit each strip mall on the route. Jokes aside, some stops don't need to exist on the eastern portion of line 5. Otherwise we get a rapid transit line in the eastern portion that is only rapid during...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The average "Torontonian" may know what each line is and where they go - actually evidence this isn't true either - but the average tourist will read the map and will not know what the mode of transport is. Nothing indicates that line 6 is a LRT running at grade in traffic while line 5 is an LRT...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Right, technically an LRT is not a vehicle, but you could argue the streetcar lines could be called LRT lines, streetcar lines or tram lines. I wouldn't give line 5 a series 500 number anyways since the line saves itself with the grade separated portions and is comparable in speed to a subway...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I don't think it matters as much to what the mode is called. Many would expect a metro map line to indicate higher order transit that would perform more rapidly then a bus. The fact that there are times where the 34 bus will overtake the LRT really questions what did we even truly pay for here...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Might it be related to too closely following the highway traffic act regulations (regulation 626 1.(2))? (2) Green arrow, amber arrow, circular green, circular amber, circular red and white vertical bar indications may be used for traffic control signals and, where they are used, they shall be...
