    LRT Safety

Indeed. A population of roughly 1 million - of which about 300,000 are either children under 14 or seniors over 65 (StatsCan 2021) and therefore rather unlikely to be commuting to the office every day. So a population of roughly 700,000 - of which probably half work in Acheson, Nisku, the...

    LRT Safety

Fair enough. Our buses move more people overall in 2026 than they did in 2014 - but that's not the point in question here, I understand. I feel Capital Line South to Heritage Valley will do the most to help per capita ridership as that will really increase access to transit for large areas that...

    LRT Safety

Because we haven't grown our fleet in a meaningful way in almost 20 years. The last large-scale purchase of buses was in 2007 and 2009, when the system added 355 buses. Since then it's been replacement by attrition.

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

I'm about as pro-CBC as they come. But I do not appreciate public dollars going towards a hit-piece on national news that amounts to "YEGwave's Greatest Hits". There is nothing here that those in the know aren't already aware of, and everything to lose when it comes to the ability of...

    Edmonton | The Jameson | 53.95m | 17s | Open Sky | Acton Ostry

It's not about not asking the question. Having an open pit like this is terrible and embarrassing. It's about not purposefully misrepresenting the facts. You'll notice that everything Mr. Watson says is  technically correct, but spun in such a way that the City looks like they went out of their...

    Edmonton Branding and Tourism strategy

I just hoped CityNerd would pass 100k! Anything past that (and especially beating the Toronto and Sydney videos that came out around the same time) has been the gravy on top!

    Terwillegar Drive Expansion

We're ready for it whenever it opens. ETS doesn't control construction, much to our dismay.

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

We've been mulling this over as well. The 500-level routes are noticibly down from 2024 to 2025. Valley Line took a minor ridership hit as well in November year/year. We only had vague ideas why but then this story was published out of Brampton that gave us something to chew on -->...

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

I was under the impression that anyone using a card of any type (Arc Card, debit card, credit card) would be paying $3.00 while anyone using cash or purchasing an Arc Ticket from a vending machine would be paying $3.75. This is to encourage everyone to either just have an Arc Card or tap with...

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

These numbers are very positive and a source of pride right now at ETS. Just everyone don't freak out too much when Q4 numbers are released and it shows a huge decline. The three weeks of school strike had ridership down 25% on the buses. LRT is not as affected but Q4 numbers will be brutal.

    Iron Works Building

Failed council candidate - yes. Former city manager - no... A former general supervisor fired for running his (admittedly brilliant and successful) coffee shop on COE time - bingo.

    Arc Smart Fare System

Excellent timing! I heard today December 8. That coincides with ETS Rider Appreciation Week so it would seem to check out.

    Blatchford

Not in Blatchford but the former Value Village at 103 St and 118 Ave has an active building permit for renos submitted by No Frills. Huge news for Westwood and the surrounding neighbourhoods. Undoubtedly related to booming infill in the area and of course Blatchford. A long standing food desert...

    Arc Smart Fare System

Pushed back. Didn't get a reason and didn't get a date. But still "by the end of the year."
