I'm putting you in charge of getting young people interested in forming couples, and older people interested in not divorcing. You're also tasked with raising the Canadian standard of living. Then there'll be much more of a market for apartments suitable for more than one person. Best of luck!

I agree, SkyH. Not sure we should consider its height above the shoreline at Halifax harbour! 😄 That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

At last it's looking a head taller than its neighbour across the street. Nice snap.

It seems a bit weird how I browse around and never see a current floor count or top height.

That's good news. Thanks for the link. I can only hope that the new design is up to the standard of the nearby improvements made at St. James and Berczy parks. (Also that the new paving stones aren't the colour shown in the artist's rendering, a somewhat vomity hue.)

Market Lane is truly in need of some attention. The fountain hasn't worked for years, none of the concrete paving slabs are level anymore, and the whole place is filthy and ugly. Dated, dismal, depressing, makes you want to rush as fast as possible out the other end.

Thanks for your reply. What's your gut feeling on it? Will the City grant a permit for some sort of Franken-condo? I don't see how a facade preservation approach could be possible, so I'm finding a compromise hard to imagine. I seem to recall that the lot is large enough for adding another...

I'm so relieved to hear that. The appeal worries me somewhat, but I'm going to take solace for now in the hope that appeals are not commonly upheld. Thanks.

At the risk of bothering you, may I ask if you know what has become of the building proposal or the proposal to designate the existing structure at 505 University as a heritage building?

All right, but let the developer find a less worthy building to knock down. Heaven knows one could be found somewhere on Univ. The Tata Building for instance.

Thank you for sharing this. [Swear word] marvellous!😄 Good news for a change.

A floor pitch of over 15 feet is remarkable. In a way it seems like an extravagance meant to compensate for the shoehorning into a crowded lot and the dull ordinariness of the exterior design. Like if a pair of shoes is dreary, install 6" platform soles under them. It's like the Goldman Sachs...
