  1. Cambry Ardship

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Took Line 5 three times yesterdays, for relatively short errands in the tunneled section. I thought it was really quick and that it will make trips that require going to Yonge way faster and easier. My two biggish disappointments were with the tiny doors on the LRT and the indirect, labyrinthine...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Bike lanes are still allowed, and if the tendering/contracting was done for Eglinton TOday before Bill 212 passed then it can still be done without asking the province for permission.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

According to the timetable, the trip will be about 12 minutes from Fairbank to Yonge-Eglinton compared to 30+ minutes on the bus currently.

I'm looking forward to it, full stop. Cedarvale to Yonge-Eglinton will be 9 minutes, down from 20+ minutes on the bus. It's going to make it so much easier to go there and go north on Yonge by transit. It's going to be a huge quality of life change. The one piece that I think is going to be...

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

Well, the Five Pillars of the Destination Niagara Strategy (Tourism Attractions, World-Class Gaming, Wine and Culinary Tourism, Arts and Culture, Transportation Development) don't really have much to say at all about, as you put it: The government seems not want to put a ton of resources into...

Well, you can just barely loop around from the convention centre to the falls, hitting most of the major hotels and other "major attractions", in 3.8 km. The thing though is that route isn't going to be built whatsoever for the benefit of the residents or development of the city in general.

    Marlee/Glencairn Transformation

The Marlee-Glencairn area study survey is open! This is an opportunity to help shape the neighbourhood into sustainable, connected community. Particularly in Option 2, the City has listened and learned from the criticisms of the traditional corridor development patterns. They need to hear that...

    Marlee/Glencairn Transformation

Might be good to show the city's renderings of the two approaches they were bringing forward to the area. The status quo visualization shows current and approved development application in the area, the second and third show the conceptual zoning for the the corridor and the zonal approach...

    Marlee/Glencairn Transformation

There's no specific improvements planned yet--this is very conceptual at this point. The staff would love to hear specific suggestions for improvements and programming for the parks in the area. I can't stress enough--if anyone reading this thread thinks the elements described here are a good...

    Marlee/Glencairn Transformation

I think priority, in the context of this study, means sometime in the next 20 years depending on how rapidly development, and the associated development charges, start coming in.

    Marlee/Glencairn Transformation

A-a-a-and a new submission in the area for 8 Benner Street. (https://www.toronto.ca/city-government/planning-development/application-details/?id=5753435&pid=363336&title=8-12 BENNER AVE & 5 STAYNER AVE) Mike Colle can try to stand before the tide yelling "stop!", but this area is going to...

    Marlee/Glencairn Transformation

The connection from Marlee to Blossomfield is already planned for in the Near Term Cycling Plan. There's some indistinct dotted yellow lines along Lawrence--staff were clear that they were planning inclusion of better cycling along the broader avenue, to Dufferin and Bathurst at least, rather...

    Marlee/Glencairn Transformation

The behaviour of some older residents was awful. @UntitledCyclist isn't exaggerating, it was flat out unacceptable to treat anyone like that. The younger people in the session were not the ones being jerks to staff. I think a lot of people were living out real or perceived slights from the city...

    Marlee/Glencairn Transformation

The ones to the north and south of Ridelle (marked in the below image)? The City staff said that these were about reusing of existing assets to better benefit the area, in this case, the (disused?) stub of a hydro corridor. I'm sure there's an element of buffering, but the hydro park is only...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I think the issue of speeds in the tunnels is going to be compounded by the tunnels being large and so well-lit. The TTC can't expect that passengers just don't plain notice that the trains are moving slowly, like happens sometimes in the dark subway tunnels.
