    Durham Region Transit / Pulse

We're in a period of austerity here at the regional level. The 2026 budget increases (transit) revenue hours only up 4.6 percent. Haven't peeked at the full numbers yet, but doesn't look too promising...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Baffling... I never saw Don Wright or Nick Simone report to the press for Metrolinx.. It's always been Phil Verster or Mike Lindsay... For any company for that matter... Why is the TTC CEO excused from accountability and the board takes this on?

    Durham Region Transit / Pulse

Latest DRT update continues to show decreased ridership (even when factoring out university cohort): I'm not sure that last line jives with their statement regarding poor on-time performance: So are we being competitive with automobile trips? Also, emergency repairs aside, I wonder how well...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Not sure if a silly question, but where is the TTC CEO in all of this? Perhaps not my understanding of process, but I'm surprised the chair of the board making announcements? Is that typical? I'm thinking back to days of Byford who seemed to be all over the press...not sure I remember what the...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Yes but, it won't get on record as an event. If you don't report, the city will claim there are less collisions and work contrary to what I assume you are trying to accomplish...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

And many decades...I think we need better (realistic) short term solution if this continues to be a source of significant delay. Bay station appears to be where spotted at track level, possibly for its' unique setup... Interesting they could not apprehend 3 people who went into the tunnels...

    Durham Region Transit / Pulse

A reminder what they may look like: I have my doubts. I’ve seen enough projects in Durham Region where the final build looks nothing like the renderings... granted, that’s usually at the municipal level. The Pickering waterfront boardwalk is a good example, especially with the Ontario code...

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

I note NES taking more shots at Doug Ford...Could this be the first of many spats between the two to come? https://bsky.app/profile/beynate.bsky.social/post/3mcv243vzek22

    TTC: Streetcar Network

Great to hear the good service, however... ...I’d take a slightly different approach: I’d suggest sending the compliment along with your concerns to the TTC and/or the relevant council or board members. You shouldn’t expect immediate change, but it’s still important that someone hears it...

    Toronto Toronto | East Harbour GO & Ontario Line Station | 14.35m | 1s | Metrolinx | HDR

Must look worse when not in a rainstorm without the nice reflections of the trees?

Ah wasn't aware one could do that. Thanks.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Some delay logs made their way to Steve Munroe, up on his site. Makes the point on how these should have been caught earlier on, perhaps indicating gaps in testing or operator training. Unsure how this compares to other line openings or how 'typical' this is of an opening week. It would be...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Unsuprisingly this sudden detour has stirred some feathers out East. Some apparently were using the bridge to get to/from work: Some at the Abbeywood retirement home were commuting locally from Port union for example. Local politicians were set to have a meeting this past week and are asking for...

    Pickering Toronto | Pickering Heritage & Community Centre | ?m | 2s | City of Pickering | Hariri Pontarini

I happened to come across the city's CAOs latest update... Construction is almost complete...And well under budget (presently at 71 percent of the $52MM). We're 3 months behind with occupancy scheduled for next month, and landscaping delayed til spring to minimize damage.
