Standard 'sealed concrete' is pretty ugly. Think of a parking garage, that's what it is basically they just seal it to waterproof it.
If you polish (and usually epoxy it) it starts to look really amazing - reflecting light and is very low maintenance.

There are also certain finishes where they 'acid stain' it so you can start to get different colors. Really the options are endless IMO better than cheap ass hardwood. It's not cheap though, for a 700sq ft unit you are probably looking at 3k... really depends on who you contract to get it done.
