    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

It's actually 408 secs = 6.8 mins. Compare with Line 2 which is 6 minutes for the exact same trip from Bathurst to Bloor-Yonge. Really not much difference.

Take the Kitchener GO line from Mt Dennis to Dundas West. If the timing isn't going to work out, the 989 from Mt Dennis to Keele is the only express option.

    Montréal Transit Developments

This entire logic falls apart when you realize that many of the same people at SNC-Lavalin working on the Eglinton Line also worked on the REM. Both are P3s - Crosslinx for Eglinton, and NouvLR for the REM. Contractually, they are structured extremely similarly... the difference is that CPDQ...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The schedule and notices were all created assuming Line 5 was starting on Feb 8. But from what I've heard (as of late last week) due to recent developments there is zero certainty inside the TTC that it will actually begin service on that date.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I think this was a bit of broken telephone in the reporting. The TTC was always the operator, at least since the P3 contracts were signed. However there was a specific contractual document that clarified the exact roles and responsibilities of TTC as the operator, and this was not finalized...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

From what I've heard about the current state of the line, both publicly and privately, I think it's most likely than not at this point that Feb 8th doesn't happen. But I want to maintain some hope!

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I would normally say that there is nuance to this - stop spacing will impact how fast you can go anyway, which will be somewhat reliant on what the urban form looks like. However, the distance between two of Line 5's four interchanges, on its slowest (at grade) segment, is 11 km out of its...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

He is saying from Cedarvale to Kennedy, not Mount Dennis. So about 14.5km = 22km/h.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Yeah reading this again (realizing its specific to Cedarvale). The original poster is prob somewhat accurate. Here's an example assuming a 115 min RTTT. 5:28am-5:43am: Mount Dennis to Cedarvale (15 mins) 5:43am-6:25am: Cedarvale to Kennedy (42 mins) 6:25am-6:29am: Layover at Kennedy (4 mins)...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Idk where the other poster is coming from, its definitely more than 40 mins per direction. Looking at the difference between the 7:10am and 5:40am start times? But that's doesn't explain anything as that is start time from different ends, not a round trip. Both public info (the Board meeting you...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I would not be surprised about a Feb 8th opening at all. Crosslinx recently held a "finish line" celebration party, and Metrolinx is running simulated service test runs, open to all staff, next week.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

1.6km is the walk down Yonge between Bloor and Dundas (20 minutes). In what world are we asking people to walk that distance just to get to an LRT stop? There is a tipping point where adding walk time starts to slow your overall journey down more than the travel time savings you get from...

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Something to consider is intersection spacing as well, as all indications are that the line will have comparable transit signal priority to the Toronto LRTs. There will be lots of stopping at lights hindering what top and average speeds can be achieved.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Back to my point of avoiding impacts to the LRT - a small bus loop could be built in the patch of grass at the NE corner of Leslie and Eglinton to allow the Leslie bus to connect to the LRT and turn around without crossing Eglinton.
