From my experience the long waits are usually just an issue with the train tracking and one will arrive before the screen says. The entire line is like 50ish mins end to end, so a 17 min wait basically means there are no trains on a full third of the line's length.

    Marlee/Glencairn Transformation

Idk man, Idk, I have a bunch of friends who grew up there and are honestly really happy to see the area growing up a bit and adding actual walkability. While some towers have gone up, the neighbourhoods have depopulated as kids move out and boomers aren't easily able to downsize.

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

Well, the 2041 one is... But the 2051 one has been long awaited.

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

Other than that one "leak"(?) of evaluated rail lines, does anyone have any info on wtf is happening with the 2051 Regional Transit Plan? I believe it was supposed to be finished over a year ago at this point... We can't even finish our planning on time!

Phase rotation is on. Other upgrades coming over the next few months.

There was some discussion on other channels that, at least on Eglinton, the current setup is a consistent lagging left. But I haven't been out there to check myself.

As many have noted, a lagging left does nothing inherently to speed up transit. Just as the left turn phase is the same amount of time, so is the transit green phase. This is just a re-ordering of phases. If the train arrival at the intersection is randomly distributed, consistently re-ordering...

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

The main benefit would be to connect the area to the growing centre at Kipling (and to Line 2)

I've heard it's basically going to be Metrolinx office space, not clear exactly how the community centre part is going to work

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Off topic for this thread, but Line 5 can't be extended due to Line 2's extension being in the way. Doesn't matter if it's at grade or not. I'm hoping that "Line 7" just turns into: a) Sheppard Extension Phase 2 to Malvern along the protected SRT extension ROW b) Upgraded BRT on the existing...

Not sure how feasible it is but like Dufferin Station, indicating exits to access NB/SB stops would be a major help. I guess it's something you figure out after one time... but at Fairbank I took the wrong exit and just caught the 29 by a second.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I think it's just a generic colour. On this note, station staff told me that MX didn't install any water or gas hookups in the retail spaces as a value engineering thing so none of the "anchor tenants" (i.e. Tim's, McDonalds) want to rent there... Not promising for any restaurant/cafes generally...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

The TTC order was made in 2021, the same year that Bombardier was acquired by Alstom. From what I've heard (through the grapevine), five years out, they are not interested in taking on more Flexity orders. Can also read between the lines on the mysterious delay to a supplemental Line 5 ECWE...

Line 5 is "too cooked" for them to even try it out...
