Roads: Highway 401 Widening - Highway 8 to Highway 410 (MTO, U/C, Planned)

Yes, the Steeles bridge hasn't been lengthened to allow more than 10 lanes.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Any counter-peak service would require new trains and more operators. That could be a barrier. I know that a few years ago there was a shortage of staff to drive the trains. Does anyone know if that's still the case?

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

So with this new pragmatism (that starts with cross-boundary discounts), has GO accepted that fare integration won't be revenue neutral?

GO Transit: It was 50 years ago today...

It's interesting that the GO history is selectively edited. The history highlights the off-peak service added to the Milton line in the 1990's, but the cancellation of that service was not mentioned. There is still no off-peak service on Milton

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

What about a DMU vehicle, the size of an UPex train?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

This is why it's good for the City of Toronto to be partially funding the stations. They can keep Metrolinx in check by having real influence. Furthermore a Toronto-Metrolinx partnership should hopefully help insulate the plan from changes in politics.

    Liberty Village pedestrian link

You cropped off the box that says, "Note: Concept plan subject to change". I think it is an important distinction that the design is not final. The good thing is that the City has skin in the game by contributing to the cost of these stations. This means that the City will be able to...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

Construction of the Peter Street bike lane started last night. The section from Queen to Richmond is now painted.

Parking Space vs. Development at Commuter Stations dilemma - Denver

I crudely put this together to show what could fit in the plot of land currently occupied by a parking lot. You also had some good examples of the bike infrastructure that I suggested. It would be great to see that put into more stations.

Parking Space vs. Development at Commuter Stations dilemma - Denver

Use the land they own that is currently used for parking. I believe it's the other way around: GO doesn't coordinate and negotiate with the TTC. With 905 and 705, GO subsidizes the local transit agency. They have refused to do that with the TTC. The existing parking lots are unfriendly to...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

I heard from Councillor Cressy's office that the City plans to install the Peter Street bike lanes this month. These were originally supposed to be installed in 2014 with the Richmond Adelaide pilot, but were delayed due to ongoing construction. They are waiting on having several consecutive...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I didn't know that there were plans for all-door boarding on buses. Are buses to become POP? Agreed, I had no idea. The difference is that streetcars are proof-of-payment; so, an inspector needs to check that you tapped on. Bus routes are not currently POP, so is it really necessary to tap on...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I noticed that ttc buses have presto readers at the back doors. I wonder why? Could much money be saved by not doing that?

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

It's zero local emissions. Pollution is still emitted from the electricity generation.

GO Transit: 50 Possible Sites for new Stations

I would argue that Bronte and Appleby are more in the middle of nowhere.
