Wait, we're complaining about having to walk/cycle under a bridge?? #peakurbantoronto

I keep trying to figure out if this is EXACTLY one half of the bridge, or whether there will need to be a bit of a middle and then then other half built.

Likewise. I remember cycling through there in the 80s and 90s and the industrial smell was unique. You can still catch it on a warm summer day near Cherry and Lakeshore right near the railway tracks.

Check out this 1960s shot of The Hearn with its massive coal pile and multiple stacks before the super stack. Insane by today's environmental standards. Wow.

Grabbed this off the Old Toronto Facebook Page. Look at all the industry down there 60 years ago. Huge change. Look at the Hearn Generating Plant with its massive COAL pile puffing away. Insane by today's standard.

I dunno. What do you define as reliable?

If it's ultra reliable, I'd agree I'd trade some speed for reliability for sure. But it will likely be both slow and unreliable. Much like the current streetcars I'm sure. I wonder of all the public transit serving Toronto, which is most reliable from best to worse? GO Train Subway Streetcar...

Thousands of people jog half marathons.

Wait. Average speed from end to end is 12 - 19 km/h? Oh boy. So someone can jog the whole line faster. That's incredibly slow.

Here are a few hi-res stills, if anyone on UT wants to pass this on to a certain someone at BlogTO, it could make for a timely little article. Not sayin' just sayin' ;)

Take a little trip with me around the roofs of the Ontario Science Centre after the record snowfall.

Or... are the cars going 30km/h (Vision Zero) so the train is going 10 km/h (TTC maintenance requirements)?
