That's why the drawings show a rooftop cafe in as part of the plans.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Remaining $65M is contingent on Calgary allowing 4 units on majority of lots across the city. I would tell the Feds where to go. I agree with higher density in the city however re-zoning is not suitable for all locations.

Updated rendering for this project. This is giving Bankview a huge upgrade IMO. This is far nicer than many of the mid-rises being built in the Beltline and it's buried in Bankview on a side street. Not complaining. Just pointing out that it is multiples better than that Copenhagen project...

I would love to see some of the car service shops around this part of 17th Ave such as Economy Glass be converted to a brewery or restaurant combo

City inspections are limited to electrical, plumbing and HVAC. They do not check the installers qualifications and only red seal tradesmen/women should be installing those. Furthermore, the City does NO inspection of windows, roofing or building envelope. Those three are the primary cause of...

Yeah it's a complete disgrace and many folks who do not have knowledge of construction of interior details do not see it unfortunately. they are paying close to $1M for complete dog-shit. The same worker doing the concrete is doing the window installation, and the electrical and the flooring and...

NEVER buy one of the new infills going up in Marda Loop. They are all being built by fly-by-night cowboy builders from a certain part of the world. Garbage construction at a luxury price.

The secret ingredient is using high quality cladding materials and keeping it simple.

    Calgary | Francesco's | 48m | 16s | Arlington Street | DAAS

That is what is said every time a garbage material is installed instead of the higher quality material shown in the rendering lol.

    Calgary | Francesco's | 48m | 16s | Arlington Street | DAAS

Arlington always dissapoint in the end. They could have had a 10/10 building if they just bloody used the same cladding shown on the renderings. This cladding exists and was used on Mission Landing which elevates the design so much. Instead the used cheap vertical cladding garbage.

Now that this part of 17th Ave (and 1st Street) is getting some density, I would love to see Mill Street Brewery or another re-open!

Fully agree too. Prime spot for a brewery or restaurant or both. Would do very well here.

Great little 6 storey midrise infill planned for 14 ST SW in Bankview. This will replace two derelict bungalows. Will have commercial space for a cafe etc. at ground level. Calgary needs a lot more of this type of infills! Design is by FAAS. https://dmap.calgary.ca/?p=DP2025-07376
