Boaters most certainly do care about the western end. With the marine exclusion zone that extends out even further, it significantly narrows the space at the western end of the western channel between the island and Ontario Place.

Not a whole lot of change to report, but I put the drone up and snapped a couple of shots for reference. Hopefully things start to get underway soon. Roadbed going in off Gerrard, just east of the Shell station. Smarter place to access the site instead of off Vic Park. Same old same old.

They will likely just back up the Don Valley rather than go to all the trouble to run a train out to Oakville to turn it around. Much easier to keep things the same as every other train (for boarding, etc.) and then just back the train up to Doncaster, do the turn around there and head north.

The elevators in the tunnel on both the north and south sides have been out of service for quite some time. Hopefully they actually come back in service in the spring as promised.

Non-Toronto projects in the Buildings forum

Is there a way to hide or ignore a thread? These threads for buildings that are hundreds of kilometres from Toronto in places like Kitchener, Ancaster, Brantford and Niagara Falls are decidedly out of place in an Urban Toronto forum.

Or close it and have Wickstead end at the tracks on both sides.

It's a cantilevered platform for bringing stuff onto (or off of) that floor via crane. It's easier to stick that thing there, which extends inside and is fixed in place at the other end, and then there is a nice platform to put stuff on rather than having to swing it in somehow. This one is cool...

Because for the last few years moderation has become less and less apparent and things are getting more and more messy. We have threads for building projects in Hamilton, Guelph, Oshawa, Niagara Falls and more in the Buildings forum despite there being separate forums for Vaughan and Mississauga...

Taken today (Nov 23, 2022) Second floor windows actually went up a month or two ago, then were removed and now it's back. Not sure what the issue was. Real brick is nice. The inset windows look pretty good. More brick happening on the west side.

Sure...once they strip out all the interior finishings, seats, fixtures, pipes, cables, etc. They could probably drop the roof with some shape charges, then bring the sides in. However, you have to take the building down to just the concrete structure before you do that. It would cost a TON to...

A few more drone shots from the other day. Lots of work happening.

Actual foul poles and not nets would be a nice addition. It's the little things sometimes. Maybe I'm convincing myself that the renderings are gospel truth (knowing they are not), but I think they show poles.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I can't wait for this to be done! Took the 34 from Bayview to Vic Park the other day and the lane reductions around Laird made for some pretty awful traffic. Past Don Mills though, things are looking mostly done. A bit of landscaping and line painted to go, but it's really close. Out at Kennedy...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

The updates last weekend were pretty good! Payment processing has been totally overhauled from the dismal pile of crap that it was to something pretty decent. You can see what the last 4 digits of your saved credit card is now (FINALLY).
