    10 on Hurontario lives on through Line 10 💪. Don't forget about Avenue formerly being 11A, and even Centre St (Once 7/7B).

    Yes, so "legally" the pedestrians have ~5 seconds to start crossing before the hand starts flashing. In practice obviously no one is following this.

    Part of the problem is the egregiously long countdowns at some intersections. I understand that some people require more time (elderly, disabled, etc.) but in some cases it is just too much. I literally see countdowns starting at 35 in some places for crossing 5-6 lanes of traffic.

    Found it. Also like that on the 407. Thanks for pointing it out! Yes, these are surprisingly common, especially considering the downloading started to take place nearly 30 years ago. I can't remember where or if it's been replaced now, but for years there was one of the old style diagonal exit...

    That would involve basically ripping out every single platform, so it would be a non starter. Plus, you would have to sever the line from the at-grade section. Line 5 should have really been "Ontario Line style" to begin with, but that ship sailed long ago and we have to deal with what was built.

    I would also add the fact that the noise from an expressway is near constant, while a train might only go by every few minutes. Besides, if you are building the elevated rail on an already busy street, the cars will always contribute far more to the overall noise than the train will.
