ION also only built the shelters on half the platform length at the start since the full length of the platform wouldn't be needed for trains until years later.

The Northlander sets are going to stable in Cochrane. After a brief rest upon arrival at Timmins-Porcupine they'll change ends and go back through Porquis Junction taking the north leg of the Wye to Cochrane. Once in Cochrane the train will be reversed into the existing servicing yard, serviced...

The Line 6 Finch West corridor is as dense as the iON LRT corridor and many said it didn't need an LRT either, yet the iON LRT is the most used transit route in KW now and is spurring further development along the corridor and the Region there is moving forward with it's stage 2 expansion down...

I do know that according to Steve Munro, they are making staffing and crewing adjustments on Line 1, 5, and 6 this coming board period adding "Service Assistance Crews". So my guess is the issues they want to fix are more operational in nature than anything else.

Respectfully... Shut Up. This is a new line experiencing all the new line issues. Issues that will be worked out the longer it operates in revenue service. Your continuous beating of the dead horse is not going to change anything. These stops don't need to be removed to improve service. All you...

not necessarily. There's an almost 19 hour gap between when the northbound train arrives in the North and when it's needed again for the southbound trip. It is proposed to arrive at 0510h at Timmins-Porcupine and depart again at 0015h that's enough time to run the rail connection to Cochrane...

The trainsets are going to layover in Cochrane. Once they get to Timmins-Porcupine the crew will change ends and go back through Porquis Junction north to Cochrane.

if the original plans were followed through with Line 1 would have had a station built in between Lawrence and Eglinton at Glencairn/Yonge and in between Lawrence and York Mills at Yonge Blvd / Glen Echo. Instead they decided to parallel the subway with the 97 Yonge bus to save money

Happens with a lot of embedded track switches Ice chunks get trapped between the switch blades and impede their ability to move fully by the looks of it they didn't install an electric switch heater there since a lot of those crossovers are so infrequently used so that just makes the problem...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Lawrence won't get higher order transit because it's too close to Line 5 Eglinton. Wilson/York Mills won't get one because it's too close to the planned Line 4 extensions. Don Mills is getting the Ontario Line, and Finch East has the potential to get a Line 6 extension east. Jane is getting...

Ottawa also runs theirs on twice the Line 6 nominal voltage (1 500 V DC for Ottawa vs 750 V DC for Line 6) which not only allows the trains to be paired together but also have a much more aggressive acceleration curve.

The Flexity Freedoms are built better tbh and since they've been running in revenue service in 2 municipalities in Canada since as early as June 21, 2019 (and the 7 module variant, both in single and paired operation in Edmonton since November 2023) and they have never experienced the same kinds...
