How long before some moron tags these beautiful bridges? I hope I’m wrong.

There is nothing in this "park" that I find appealing. Too bad, and I hate to dump on other people's work but It's way too busy. It seems to have several themes running through it. The park looks cold and confused. It looks like the aesthetics have been shoehorned to try and fit the concept...

I really don't get the addition of the boulders. They must add a lot of weight to the underground parking roof?? To me they just look like additional barriers and aren't particularly attractive. They're a great place to lose your keys or phone, or anything else small enough that can fall between...

I hope the color of these beautiful bridges doesn't suffer the same fate as the CityPlace Puente de Luz Bridge (ie, fading color).

You hit the nail on the head Northern Light. You explained my sentiments better than I did. By "lazy" I mean the proposal isn't tailored to the site. It's like a step and repeat of the design used in a small cramped downtown site. Podium, set back, tower, etc., etc. This Smart Centre site has...

I don't like it. I'd rather see mid rise development and "real" neighborhoods developed. I agree with you Irishmonk. This is a lazy proposal especially considering the huge amount of developable land on this site. No reason not to build mid rise here.

Looks great and adds some much needed warmth. Can't wait to see the south end of the row of heritage buildings completed.

I managed to squeeze out one photo last Saturday before my battery died. Looks like they were using pumps and buckets to pour. Kinda makes a nice title... "Pumps and Buckets".

That north elevation is such a letdown. It bugs me everytime I notice it. Too bad.

Lovely design. I really, really, REALLY, hope that the warm materials indicated in the renderings become a reality. A city that suffers through gray winter months could use a little gentle warmth.

Ugly, clumsy, heavy, overworked and a lack of cohesive design but, other than that, it’s worthy of a C-.

I love the texture on the white panels. It's so nice to see detailed texture. So many new builds have slick, shiny curtain walls, that lack "interest" and do nothing more than reflect light. I'm curious to see how the white will age.

Yonge Street Revitalization (Downtown Yonge BIA/City of Toronto)

2023? To be completed in 2025? Considering that this forum thread opened in 2007, that’s 16 years before the project even begins, I don’t have much faith in the 2025 completion date. No rush, it’s not like we want tourists and visitors to walk away with a good impression of our somewhat...

Ditto, Great to have photos from a new vantage point! Does anyone know if the cement pumps will be used on the upper floors and if so how? I assume that buckets will take over at a certain height??
