    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

How could he? You just know Ford has been up at his cottage with his four daughters and their partners, breaking all the rules he told the rest of us to follow. I'm sure the daughters weren't foolish enough to say so on their instas so we'll probably never know.

Toronto and the 2015 Federal Election

Spadina-Fort York is definitely a riding of interest, with two very popular former city councillors and MPs for that ward/riding(ish) facing off - Adam Vaughan and Olivia Chow. Who will win? Will it be party or personality that counts most? Who would do the better job?

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

Oh right, I'd completely forgotten about the St. James Town of Tomorrow. The city may never get a better head start on urban renewal.

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

    Ooooh....maybe Liberty Village could get a do-over!

    Rob Ford's Toronto

The only "childish b.s." I see is your stubborn insistence on tirelessly railing against a wholly incorrect definition of white privilege. You keep getting upset about black people who talk about white privilege yet refuse to engage with the actual definition of the term they are using, even...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

And what are you JimmiT? You vehemently deny white privilege exists, you excoriate Andray Domise for complaining about racism, and now you question whether Desmond Cole was lying about being carded because you asked one black guy and he said something different. And you say all these things on...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Six weeks from the point at which the citizen becomes aware of the conflict to file, up to six years after the date of the transgression. Jude's affidavit details how she became aware, and in great detail. Sounds like Fords' lawyer is arguing that a) Jude is lying and/or b) if she didn't know...

    Toronto 2015 Pan American Games

I guess time will tell, but history has shown that elite facilities can help build strong national programs. It's no coincidence that Canada's surge in international speed skating followed construction of the Calgary Oval. Ditto bobsled and skeleton, also thanks to the Calgary Olympics. The...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

My money's on Matlow. I know he tries really hard to position himself as a centrist rather than a lefty, but I've always assumed he does that because he wants to run for mayor one day :-)

    Toronto 2015 Pan American Games

And it's not even the only solution! With all the complaining it's been easy to overlook that NOBODY is barred from using the HOV lanes. They haven't been walled off and reserved entirely for Pan Am activities. ANYONE can use them...they just need to have three people in the car. That's it...

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

I'm inclined to agree. Tory's no centrist, though he's hardly a fiscal conservative either - a billion on a subway we don't need and another half (at least) on a highway we don't need. Not exactly keeping his eye on the family larder. You're right - all we've seen so far is policy by pandering...

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

I'm willing to stomach a petty annoyance that I can tune out of whenever I want to in favour of sound democratic process. Call me crazy.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Patrick Brown won the PC leadership by gladhanding at every event he could scratch an invite to. Pride's no different. Now, if only he'd tell us what he actually stands for...

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

Actually, I'd rather have lots of debates (any of which I can choose to ignore) than the lots of showing up at events just to shake hands that seems to occupy the rest of candidates' time. At least then they're forced to state their positions on issues they may not otherwise address.

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

This last election, which was unique in many ways that were pretty much all related to Rob Ford, shouldn't be the basis for changing the rules about campaign duration. Debates started earlier and media coverage was intense from the outset, creating the sense of a much longer campaign. I...
