    Woodbine Centre

There is no point in having such an anchor move in when the mall is in such poor shape. The few brands that are left do not warrant the entire place running. They can easily locate if needed and either have a cheap lease as it stands, or they don’t and they won’t renew upon their expiry. The...

Looks like a massive dental college will be taking up a significant amount of square footage (Approx 22,000sq ft) on the second level. It will be right next to the upcoming Good Life and span towards the new mall entrance facing south beneath the new condo towers. Very smart business decision.

Most of the mall needs to be demolished. There is simply too much square footage available for any profit to be made, especially when retail is seeing some of its most challenging times ever. A supermarket and pharmacy in the current format of the mall won’t make a difference in the bottom line...

I agree. They’re done and the fair should be saved as part of a larger redevelopment. The only way I see some retail sticking around is if a community is built within it - condos. A part of the mall can be saved for essential services, pharmacy, groceries, food concepts, etc. This condo concept...

There is no way Simon’s will put their name on this property. They are extremely picky with selecting their locations and are very patient when it comes to expansion. Even as a clearance centre one day, they would select a space that is among other popular brands for the exposure and foot...

Well, that’s it for Hudson’s Bay. After June, another massive dormant space.

Perhaps Simons will eventually arrive in part of one of the anchors? Though typically they expand slowly and are opening soon at Yorkdale and Eaton Centre. I’m surprised Primark hasn’t arrived in Canada. Though not higher end, It’s wildly popular and the location that opened at Walden...

Baskin Robbins is back. Hopefully Kernals returns, too. They were at the mall since opening in 1986.

Absolutely, though the interior of the mall desperately needs occupancy. External fronts should really be unique to draw traffic. Fat Bastard Burrito could have been a food court addition, where at least 2 spaces exist. Life Labs I would have placed next to the new Rexall, maybe.

I think Pur & Simple, Fat Bastard Burrito and LifeLabs.

It’s a shame for Nortown. Their other 2 locations will remain open. As for Baskin Robbins, they are temporarily closed for a full remodel/expansion :) It appears they are Re-opening in March.

Interesting thread. I have very fond memories of Woodbine, often going with my family in its prime. In the last two years, I returned with my toddler daughter who now loves going the odd time during winters primarily. Here are some of my at random thoughts.. The mall is in a state of disrepair...
