Here's an article from a few years ago when it was first announced (here). Multiple schools have been operating out of the building for a few years now. The construction now is to add a gym to the building.
Here's the latest timelines from UCPG (Town Hall):
This is the third year in a row that they've said the self storage is about to move forward; maybe it'll actually be true this year! Overall a slower pace than we've seen for the last few years, which is probably to be expected given the way...
I went to the UD construction town hall this week, and the UCPG rep said that this project is aiming for occupancy by the end of summer. That would be essentially two years from applying for the DP to completion; Truman is firing on all cylinders!
Someone with a zoom lens could confirm, but I walked by today and it looks like the "mural" in the renders is actually some sort of tiles on the facade.
Reference from the render:
I'm surprised there haven't been any official announcements about the businesses moving in here yet, since the building is going to open up this spring. I heard a rumor that Block Hospitality is looking at a restaurant there.
"Shovel ready"; all that's left is to choose the route, reach an agreement to use CPKC's right of way, and design the stations and downtown elevated portion (if that's still the plan?).
If Allies & Morrison's big project in Toronto is the one that caught people's attention here, then I'm going to guess that it's QuadReal's 8 tower Eau Claire project.
