Not sure if civilians can actually create the level of disruption you are mentioning. Its not like there is always going to be a motorcade whenever they step out of their building.

I did the same. A lot better and cost effective but also get to do try out different types of coffees etc.

I do enjoy going to a local coffee shop in Italy and paying for an espresso in change... I also agree prices are quite elevated in north America... I generally buy beans and make my coffee at home... I do find De Mello to have pretty good selection of beans. People choose to spend their money...

I suppose the closest thing to a 'black coffee' they serve is an Americano which is listed for $3.75. The closest thing that still resembles coffee (that doesn't have other 'exotic' stuff) listed at around $7 is an Iced Latte for $6.75, while a regular Latte comes to $5.45. So I guess $7+ are...

De Mello was a roaster at first, providing coffee to many specialty cafes in Toronto before they started to open their own cafes. Quantum coffee opening also gives a good alternative. And I believe Indigo has a small Propeller coffee pop-up which I'm not sure how long it'll stay but looked nice...

Yeah, this and the waterworks a few blocks away will help draw people for food for sure.

I agree it's too premature to determine how things will evolve with time. When I walked through, I could imagine it being pretty busy once the buildings are fully populated. One way or another I think it's a good outcome so far and could see it pulling people towards this section of town.

"Luxury"... what an overused word in the real estate market at the moment.

There was a tree that collapsed recently in Victoria Memorial Square nearby that thankfully didn't injure anyone but easily could have hurt people.

Yeah, and probably a good thing that side walks have a buffer zone between them and the street... I'm sure the cyclists will appreciate the pedestrians not using those lanes as an extension of the sidewalk...

This project is moving so quickly compared to some of the other projects in the area!

Just hope it doesn't have issues like Vancouver House where it flooded not long after completion....
