I'm coming late to this discussion, and perhaps it's been suggested already, but one solution for retaining the Osgoode grounds would be to decide now to create the University Avenue linear park and place the entrance outside the fenced area.

I agree. It almost brought tears to my eyes when I first saw this. So much public land was wasted on "gentle" density and townhouses, at a time when the tidal wave of the impending housing crisis was very much visible on the horizon.

It looks to be a standard rectilinear construction with very imaginative self supporting balconies. Quite lovely. Why would it be cost prohibitive to construct?

Why does the city seem to want parks at the intersection of major streets. Wouldn't it make more sense to place the park away from the noise and exhaust of traffic. Put the park on the south side, and have it encompass Oxley. It would make for a bigger, quieter park.

I don't know for certain but I suspect they needed to extend the supports down to the bedrock and it would be easier to do this by drilling than digging.

I love this. It fits right in. And the massing is perfect. As far as I'm concerned they should march this right up to 349 Spadina.

I actually had an emotional reaction to this. There's been so much stupidity in governance lately (at all levels) that I was beyond despair. Finally... FINALLY they're doing it right.

No. Just make them clean it, in front a well-remunerated supervisor in a lawn chair (me) paid for by the perpetrator.

I don't know what the larger story is but the story I'm following is "The Little Digger That Could." It's one machine. And it's doing it solo. God bless him it's getting a little deeper every day.

I don't understand why these trusses need to be any higher than the Spadina bridge road surface. If that can hold parked cars at rush hour and two streetcars, it should be able to support a park surface. The trusses to support the buildings can go as high as necessary but should not need to...

The mountain is completely ridiculous. It cannot stand. Whatever the engineering challenges, they're got to go back to drawing board and start afresh. Parking is absolutely not necessary in a project like this.

Jasonzed - Jason Zytynsky Tribute and Photography Award

Jason's drone shots (along with Koops' and Steveve's renderings) were the main reason I would log onto UT. I always hoped I would encounter him someday in drone mode. I was thrilled when he posted pics taken above my street. I never met him but I appreciated his work greatly. He was a legend on...

I don't mind the idea of tall buildings lining the south side of Front St. leaving the remainder of the rail corridor for a linear park. But this elevated park is ridiculous. There are a number of developments with no parking in the downtown area. This needs to be one of them.

    Toronto Toronto | Aqualuna at Bayside | 61.87m | 18s | Tridel | 3XN

Does anyone know what the original purpose of the concrete structure they're now demolishing at the bottom of the pit? Is it an old intake line? For reference: https://www.tridel.com/aqualuna/live-construction-camera/

I've been thinking this for a while now. How many has it been? But he wouldn't be that stupid. Couldn't be. It would invite complete personal destruction. And it's almost TV-Land evil.
