Because the airport should allow jets, and is a net asset for the city. All the parkland that's become the subject of this would have been safe right now if the city had agreed to play ball long ago. Hopefully now Chow can still negotiate support for keeping the island parkland in city hands.

I think she'd be opening up herself to attacks on that front if that's what she wants to campaign on. She's only very gently pushed back on Ford, and had mostly cooperated with him.
