Noticed they were doing what appeared to be soil sampling on this empty lot on 14 st today https://maps.app.goo.gl/xnYP4q6AriDxTGmD9 Its been for sale for a while and I've always thought it would be a good location for a smaller *tokyo vibes* mixed use development

I wouldn't be surprised if they're facing some financial strain with the new limits on foreign students. That made up a huge percentage of their student body

This is whats throwing me off, people keep referring to Singapore sams but its all one building. I wouldn't be too sad to see that strip mall go. Its a gong show. Can't imagine taking a kid to daycare there when there's 20 junkies smoking meth on the sidewalk

Can someone tell me why they do the full building wrap with scaffolding? My guess would be because there's asbestos in the siding and it need to be contained during the abatement. Or just for general demolition dust?

If i could have done it my way, i would have still demo'd the whole site, as the buildings were in rough shape. But i would have rebuilt the cool old blue building in the same style, with a podium, and two residential towers set back from the street. One ~6 stories and one ~10 stories, with the...
