Reaper would be the expert on timetables, but my uninformed assumption when I first saw this was going from Stouffville to Old Elm adds like 10+ minutes round trip that perhaps complicates the scheduling downstream. The same way going from Mount Joy to Stouffville adds 20+ minutes round trip...

There’s foundations for OCS in the LSE corridor that has been rebuilt between the USRC and Gerrard Square. Anecdotally, I would peg it somewhere between 20-40 foundations that have been or will soon be poured. It’s simply concrete with a fixture to bolt a pole too with conduit laid below the...

I had similar thoughts. My interpretation is the long form written reports seem have been consolidated into the second half of the slide deck and transitioned to bullet form updates on projects.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

The “well will run express from Milliken to Union” doesn’t materially change much given the slow order at Finch, crawling through Agincourt, slow order at Progress and crawling through Kennedy before getting into queue to crawl into a platform at Union because we missed our original slot.

I’m sure it’s the same 401/409 tunnel from ages ago given it’s labelled green, implying it’s completed.

I enjoyed the SSE update that stated the TBM will soon reach West Highland Creek. We all know what that means. 🤣

The links have been updated. The path dependency project slide is front and centre on the CPG slide deck. I don’t know how to reconcile the “Mount Joy second platform, passing track and turn back signal at Stouffville GO” being labeled as under construction in the CPG Board report while the...

https://www.metrolinx.com/en/about-us/the-board/board-meetings/meeting-2026-02-12 Reports and slide decks will start to be uploaded in the coming days for next Thursday’s board meeting. I am hopeful the GO Expansion “path dependency” project slide makes an appearance instead of it being a one off.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Allandale’s post reminded me of the potential turn back signal to be installed at Stouffville GO station that would allow every second off peak train to terminate at Stouffville vs. Mount Joy. Given off peak service only reaches Mount Joy station is it possible to begin construction on the turn...

It was nice to see OCS footings being installed yesterday in the LSE corridor. LSE Fourth Track How will this siding become operational for storing rail equipment? Are the switches west of Danforth GO being upgraded in the spring? Birchmount Bridge Thus far jersey barriers have only been laid...

I’ve only been following the RFP “wish list” for a short time, but I’ve seen the same projects with a forecasted RFP date be pushed every quarter for 3+ years.

I am hoping they’re aiming to knock some of the low hanging fruit off their path dependencies. With respect to improving accountability, it would be nice to see KPIs being measured against these “missions” at each board meeting.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

A slew of weekend closures have been published. It’s going to be another busy spring. https://www.gotransit.com/en/the-future-and-go/construction-notices The LSE and Stouffville line closures are coordinated, which suggest it’s being driven by LSE projects (East Harbour, 4th track installation...

The GO Transit website lists two additional weekend closures on LSW in January, presumably for continued work on the Etobicoke bridge (and whatever else work they can get done in the depths of winter). January 17-18 and 24-25
