Thought I’d go and get my first ever arc card at one of the new stations which are now all open…..but NYET!!

Main girders going up today

Maybe it’s just me, but ever since I was about 8 yrs old, when I go past that mural, I was always think:

I was a bit surprised/disappointed today to see the excavation only extends to cover the grounds of the old Mirador. I suppose the Jasper Avenue portion will follow b a few years?

I first noticed it about 20 years ago, and initially it was almost completely intact. But it’s sad because with each passing year it disintegrates a little further into obscurity, and now it’s almost unrecognizable.

If you choose to take the single track along the waters edge, you may notice the remnants of the old John Walter Ferry marooned in the bush about 100 meters west of the Walter dale bridge.

New stadium station starting to take shape

Considering this footbridge is now over a year late, it’s disappointing that there doesn’t seem to be much urgency in getting it completed.

Looks like they’ve finally started hanging some structural steel for the SUP beneath the river bridge.

I think that when the temporary barrier between the square and the new building comes down it may feel quite a bit more spacious. There is a surprising amount of space in that gap when viewed from 104th Ave.
