    St Lawrence Market

Couple shots of the interior at the new cafe / furniture shop in the Bank of Upper Canada Building. Nothing to write home about. It extends into old office space in the back, which is awkwardly used to display sectional sofas. It was open right out the back to an elevator lobby and the...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

It closed mid 2023 and was always touted as 4.5-5 years. Early 2028 is more realistic but will probably still slip.

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

More metro-like service and electrification on the UP line is a valid future expectation. Lacking any obvious connection to the OL though, there’s no compelling reason they would source the same rolling stock here. That will come down to a lot of number crunching and choosing the best bid on the...

    Montréal Transit Developments

I saw some french discussion of this online but didn’t take the time to translate. Has the Griffintown infill been descoped entirely or just delayed significantly?

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Resistance from CPKC, who would contend with significant interruptions due to construction. They’re not particularly cooperative, which is not unreasonable considering they don’t stand to gain anything by being charitable.

    Toronto Toronto | BMO Field Renovations | ?m | ?s | MLSE | Gensler

Since I brought it up last page, I’ll restate that I am happy with the current appearance and fan experience at BMO. There are definitely some match days with dreadful weather (I was at the March 29th match vs. Vancouver, 0° freezing rain and strong wind gusts) but lack of attendance is less to...

    Union Station Rail Corridor Improvements

On Friday night there was a similar two lane closure on one half of the Bay St underpass. I wonder if this was part of the same investigation.

    Toronto Toronto | Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

Another privatized airport train comparison: If you fly into Narita Airport just outside of Tokyo you can take an express train (Keisei Skyliner) into the city for about $22-24 CAD. It takes about twice the time of UP (~52 mins), and covers a little more than twice the distance (~62km, fewer...

    Toronto Toronto | BMO Field Renovations | ?m | ?s | MLSE | Gensler

MLS has announced a change that will see their league calendar shifted in phase with the European calendar by 2027-2028. Surely this has big implications for Toronto considering the climate and lack of protection from the elements at BMO. I’m a fan of the open grandstand appearance of BMO...

    Toronto Toronto | 245 Queen Street East | 94.3m | 25s | ONE Properties | Graziani + Corazza

Reposting @GameOnBrad ’s photo from ROQ city thread. Part of the future 245 Queen site is fenced off but I can’t find any demo permit for the lot yet. It appears the building application still doesn’t have approval either.

Moss Park / Queen & Sherbourne

This is what was reported on Tuesday and, as mentioned in the Facebook caption, it wasn’t entirely accurate. No outages I heard of on George north of Adelaide. I have seen plenty of Hydro vehicles parked around the substation at Adelaide and George the last couple of nights.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

I’m not familiar with the particular alternative shown in the picture, the continuous inlet/outlet of the DVP on Lakeshore certainly helps. But yes those figures are very hard to believe for AM peak, now or ~10 years ago when these studies were done.
