It may be conservative, but as someone who lives in a high-design building, I'm beyond happy to move into something that you consider awful. 'Stunning architecture' goes out the window when that's the ONLY thing that gets a passing grade. Tridel, on the other hand, is a dream to deal with...

Looks very promising. I like the scale of the (now shorter) towers. Thank you for the pics, 42!

Really? When did you hear that Minto is starting over again?

Not sure about the timing, but yes that will be done next ahead of Pan Am.

Yes, the Coffin Factory is very cool and it will be great to have that restored. In the pic, those towers are not imposing at all. Looks decent so far. p.s. I just have ONE concern about the area. We don't need to bring it up over and over again...but its kind of hard to ignore in...

I agree that massive construction sites aren't pretty. But yes, the public realm is set to be awesome. Corktown Common is already amazing; and Front Street and Cherry Street will look top notch with many rows of trees. Throw in some decent shops and we have a (potentially) cool neighbourhood...

Public Square and New Park Design in Toronto

The thing is that, the lands that Waterfront Toronto have with their scope now would have just sat there waiting for some bold and very rich developer to have a vision and the money to clean up these brownfield sites. Parks and a waterfront promenade would have been an after-thought, I'm sure...

I had the same thing happen on the top floor of an apt. The booms, which sound like loud thunder and could wake the dead, come from the concrete roof in extreme cold. You get used to it after awhile, but it's quite shocking when you first hear it in the middle of the night!

No. After the casino was squashed, immediately after at the Land and Development Conference, Oxford said that it was still a go. I am looking forward to new news, however :)

There will still be the rusted steel, unless something has changed that I'm unaware of. You can see where it will go overtop of the walls (with the insulation) between the windows. Everything should look like the renderings here. Public projects (normally!) don't get value engineered as much...

Now THAT's a POOL. I can see it being packed all the time.

Hahaha thank you, kris. I love it. That made me smile :)

I'm a little surprised that its only just north of 60% sold, but keeping in mind the area (Dundas, in particular, not Sorauren) and the train tracks that's actually quite good. The brick used here looks awesome. We need more of these mid-rises across the city. This is the type of new...

We aren't NYC...but for Toronto a 47 storey building on a 60 foot wide lot is still impressive, as far as being slender is concerned :) That NYC one is just crazy!

Its difficult to predict at this point what the future development blocks will look like. There has already been changes to the designs of some of them. Nothing will happen until after the Games, but we may still get to see proposals over the next year or two. As mentioned before, the...
