Sorry if this was already talked about, but does anything know if there is something happening at the old Mill St Brewhouse pub building? It looks like someone is installing some nightclub style nights on the east side (inside) and I have seen people actively working inside as well.

I like 17th Ave... but there are probably 10 streets in each of Montreal and Toronto that are equivalent or better in their entertainment, walkability etc... I think the retail condo investment scheme has kind of had it's time, but that doesn't mean that homeowners aren't looking for places and...

Yup. Toronto investors are freaking out, Calgary home buyers are flush with options and the downtown rental supply has a multi year pipeline of completions. It’s surprising to me that Beltline Block is going ahead right now.

Are people actually buying these places? Does anyone have any intel? It'll be a nice place to live but it just feels like a terrible time for this.

Great photo there. I always assumed Calgary tore down a bunch of nice old downtown neighbourhoods but it looks like the downtown core was quite small when high quality, pretty and walkable streets were the norm. Also cool to see the lack of access to beltline.

Not a huge building and the rents are affordable... I applaud Alston on this gym. I lived briefly in First & Park in Eau Claire and the gym wasn't half of this. This would be massive selling feature for me.

I walked by this today and noticed that in the right light, it looks like that black cladding has some sort of sweet sugary stuff poured all over it. Is there usually a film on it that they remove once it's all installed?

#2 for me. It feels like a Parks building already and I don't know why. I like #1 as well and while #3 is cool, that area is not very big and I'm not sure the buildings will feel grand enough.
