Alberta's bubble is largely an issue of limiting supply of new developments thereby driving prices up and up. If managed properly, this bubble can be lowered without being burst. We'll see how that goes in the coming years.

Completely agree, Condo George!! Price per floor premium is a big deal.

Overall a condo generally has higher fees, but much of that goes towards yard/snow services, routine maintenance and upgrades, and peace of mind. So if you don't want to shovel snow, mow the lawn, or paint, etc, go with a condo. You are paying for convenience.

Definitely go with the balcony -- will help the resale value in the future. And you never know, you may eventually use it.
