I don't really understand the logic in opening up a Rosie's less than 1 block from Boogies, which is well established and very popular in the neighbourhood. A&W corners the "I want a cheap burger at all hours of the day" market and iyycburg has at least been smart enough to move in a few blocks...

They are on-site gutting the house as we speak.

Anything Leonard builds turns to gold so I really look forward to this one starting.

We'll see which of the 3 vacant lots on that corner are completed first. I'm going to say Marc and Mada will beat them all.

Buliding this in phases with the podium and much of the landscaping done after phase 1 feels more palatable in a neighbourhood where the construction never ends. Which seems counterintuitive as it will actually take longer to build as a whole.

Feels like all those other lots along 33rd where developers are quick to evict and/or tear down and then get cold feet when it's time to build.

But poor people live in them. Can't have that! Better squeeze them out and make some good coin in the process....

Final top level paving in Marda Loop goes from Sept 7-24. All done at night to not disrupt business. Businesses are still complaining of course.

This is nothing more than hyperbole. There were no issues walking around the neighbourhood with either a stroller or a wagon or holding your kid's hand before the project started.

I don't want to jinx it, but I think the Marda Loop streetscape work may be finishing up. As far as I know the following sections remain, all of which are in progress: South side of 34 Ave between 21 and 22 St South side of 34 Ave between 17 and 18 St Both sides of 19 St from 33 to 34 Ave...

Demolition is done and the dig is well underway here, lots of work going on the last few weeks. Always nice to see any project in Marda Loop progress at more than a snail's pace.

Walked by multiple times yesterday and there wasn't anyone on site either time. Quickly is not the right word to use on this one.
