Doesn't exactly say "boutique hotel" here. More like flophouse.

    Brampton Toronto | Bramalea City Centre Redevelopment | 119.3m | 33s | Morguard Corporation | ARK Inc.

Back at Committee of Adjustment, Morguard is proposing changes to allow for two taller buildings. 1000 units, all rental. The northwestern part of the mall (minus Sears) would get a minor addition and an entrance plaza...

    Toronto Toronto | Elektra Condos | 133.5m | 42s | Menkes | Giannone Petricone

The Filmore's sign marquee now reads "Final Curtain January 31, 2026." That's a Saturday night.

Niagara River Line (Automated Electric Tram)

Much of eastern Niagara Region doesn’t look great, including East St. Catharines, Merriton, Downtown Welland, parts of Thorold, and the east side of Port Colborne. Like much of Niagara Falls, they’ve all been hit hard by economic restructuring since the 1980s. But it’s no different than...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I went out earlier this week to ride the LRT again. Though the eastbound trip took 49 minutes, the westbound trip took 15 minutes linger than that - 1 hour, 4 minutes. It isn't just the slow speeds, it's the inconsistency that's awful...

Looks like a serious incident at the portal site just west of Weston Road. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/construction-site-injury-eglinton-jane-9.7021241 Man injured after crash at construction site: Toronto police First responders say 2 vehicles crashed at construction site near...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

As for Highway 420, it’s a relic of the old QEW that was built as a multilane highway but not to a freeway standard; it only became the 420 rather than a branch of the upgraded QEW years later. It was never designed to be a freeway right to the bridge, and since it doesn’t have crossborder truck...

Niagara River Line (Automated Electric Tram)

It’s a rehash of Doug Ford’s old plans for the Toronto Portlands, just moving the gadgetbahn and the Ferris to the Falls, along with more casinos and such. I can’t take this too seriously, but given his power over his party and the province, I’m taking it a bit more seriously than the first...

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

The Canadian Northern Railway alignment. Not just any country road, but Highway 17, the main road between Ottawa and Montreal until the mid 1970s when Highway 417 was completed.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

This probably suits CN fine. It was content with a single track just east of Brampton Station for decades. As long as they have four tracks elsewhere, like between Kennedy Road and Halwest, it should work. The Halton Sub is only single track with sidings between Silver and Burlington anyway.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

With the elimination of routes 54 and 66, Metrolinx has done its job of eliminating almost all bus routes that don’t cross a regional or county boundary. The only ones left I can think of are Routes 22 and 38.

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

This is not the case. The CPKC mainline – the North Toronto Subdivision – was built as part of the Ontario & Quebec Railway that connected CP’s Western Ontario properties (the former Credit Valley Railway and Toronto Grey, & Bruce) with the transcontinental mainline through the Ottawa Valley and...

    Brampton Transit/Zum

Ridership is down this year, nearly 20% from 2024, and the loss of international students is being blamed. That's a really huge drop from 43.6 million rides in 2024, back to around 35 million. But 35 million is still very respectable, and hopefully means that service cuts will not be coming...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Where was David Miller? (I ask as I ride this slow tram.)
