Suppose the TOC money does not cover the cost of a Royal Orchard Station. Does this mean that the government could reverse course and cancel the station due to lack of funding?

The Ontario Line doesn't really provide a strong east/west service.....It stops at Bathurst/King and then takes a turn towards Exhibition, which is stupid and results in a permanent end towards real East/West service at Bathurst. Even most people who live at Liberty Village will just end up...

Today is another consultation. I didn't go to the first one, but I plan on going today, and advocating for a subway. I'd encourage others in this forum to do the same.

I don't think we will ever see Senlac, Willowdale, or Faywood ever come to reality as stations. It would be really surprising if this happened, but I doubt it. For the west extension, the only real station that is needed in between the two branches of Line 1 is Bathurst Station.

Metrolinx has stated on the site that they are considering building an LRT (not in those exact words) and that they haven't made a decision on the mode. Perhaps they might back track and build an LRT instead of a subway if the subway costs skyrocket. I'm not sure we are out of the woods just yet...

Not really. They don't have some kind of monopoly over subways just because they decided to build four projects. The city can create its own projects.

I think it is a hilarious joke to think that Josh Matlow would ever even consider extending the Sheppard Subway, even if somehow magically it were a free extension. For the love of anything good in the universe, I hope that Josh Matlow never becomes Mayor. Not just because of his ridiculous...

Dude.....We don't do proper TSP in Toronto with LRTs....did you not read what I said? Metrolinx changed it's mind on TSP with the Eglinton LRT and it is unlikely that any Sheppard LRT would have transit signal priority.

Uhh...no. Building 'simply anything' would not be a good idea. Building an LRT would just force a linear transfer and piss a lot of people off who wanted a subway because then the LRT would be along with a linear transfer would be around for decades. I'd rather build a subway, since it's a catch...

I've read the comments that work is being done behind the scenes on it and about the gossip/speculation. I just have a hard time believing that *meaningful* work is being done at the moment to bring this to reality.

The Sheppard West extension is not a provincial plan at all for now. Only Sheppard East is. And I have a feeling that the Market Updates will not have any update on the Sheppard East extension for a couple of years, and it will be a campaign promise for the next election. I hope I'm wrong.

I am specifically referring to an LRT to Sherway, which doesn't make any sense considering it would be a line that is only 3.5 km. I don't think it makes any sense to force an interchange and do all that construction for a subway that can be constructed without tunneling it for such a short...
