    310 Frances Ave (Stoney Creek, New Horizon, 44 + 38 + 33s, KNMYH)

What exactly is your objection to these towers? There are already tall apartment buildings in the area.

This is my pediatrician's office. Not a very nice office building. Cramped, dirty, and outdated. Not a loss, but I hope they replace all the medical offices and the pharmacy.

Hamilton LRT (Metrolinx/City of Hamilton, Revived)

There was a crew doing some preliminary drilling on the station site next to the Main St. roundabout last week. Definitely some movement afoot.

It does seem that the previous September 2020 and September 2021 timelines were disingenuous at best and actively misleading at worst. There's no way either of those was going to be met, underpinning delays and COVID or not. My guess for the line opening is late next year. Some stations are...

Sky Lobby on what appears to be the 5th floor? Bah. Sky lobbies belong in the sky on the top floor.

I'm liking this. Enough detail to make it interesting without looking like a clown project. It's exactly the type of avenue infill we need more of. It's usefulness to the neighbourhood will be determined by the retail, though. Have any tenants been announced yet?

Interesting. An acquaintance attempted to develop a 23-storey tower next to this site and got tremendous pushback from the city. Curious how this will go down at planning.

This floor will probably take 5-10x longer than your average residential floor, which go up at a rate of one a week, on average.

Is there a proposal next to this building, as well? I can't find anything, but I remember seeing a sign when driving by for another development. I have to say, I quite like the design. This area can use some densification.

Terrible news! He was a great contributor to this forum. Condolences to his family and friends.

Wow! Those look amazing! Nice to see some development on this project.

Like a phone number? I don't know anyone associated with it, I just live in the neighbourhood. It is being built by Gairloch Development, you may want to contact them.

An interesting comparison is the very narrow lanes on the gardiner, especially eastbound past Jarvis. There's a natural slowing of traffic there, because the lanes are just barely wider than a car. Yet somehow everyone seems to make it OK. Time to get new firetrucks?

As a Euro-import, I've always found lanes in Canada to be crazy wide. They are much narrower pretty much everywhere outside of North America. There's definitely room to narrow lanes somewhat without compromising safety, especially on nominally 50km/h roads.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Ahhh... thanks for the replies. Hopefully this gets resolved soon. I commute to Hamilton 2-3x a week and this week it's been a nightmare coming back in the evenings.
