I really hope we in for a more exuberant form than the standard box on a podium, which is essentially what One Bloor is (as much as I love it). I'd love some kind of revival of Foster's unbuilt Millennium Tower. http://www.fosterandpartners.com/projects/millennium-tower/

In the initial model of the new scheme the gallery was a little glass box on the roof of the warehouse on the west end of the block. Maybe the city wanted them to move it, which I'd prefer to be honest. It would be much more at home in the little box on the podium of the west tower.

Also, in these new models, where did the Art Gallery box go?

Even for residential building floor heights vary wildly. In NYC for instance, 125 Greenwich Street, which has just two more floors than One Bloor, will be over 500 feet higher due to it's extremely high ceilings, which can be up to 22 feet.

I'm kinda confused, what properties besides Strolley's are part of this project?

I like it. The dynamic nature of the sculpture complements the dynamic facade of One Bloor. My only problem is the crumpled metal skin at the piece's base. It doesn't work very well with One Bloor, looks like it would feel more at home with M+G haha.

I remember a UT admin saying that they will not change the database photos of M+G until they get high-quality model photos or renderings. That's kinda happened now, with the new high resolution model photos you can see of M+G's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MirvishGehryTO

I might cause some glare, but that's about it. The problem with the Walkie-Talkie was that its concave facade (intended to maximize floor space at greater heights) focused all beams of light hitting that particular face onto a single, very small area, which in turn created excess heat. The...

You know you're an architecture geek when you take a break from a rave to take a picture of a new skyscraper. Aura makes a good background for a rave! (Ryerson Kerr Hall Quad)

I've nicknamed B.streets "the iceberg". You can see it in the centre of frame with Central Tech.
